Are you passionate about construction and ready to take your estimating skills to the next level? Our Client is seeking a candidate with a strong background in shoring, road reconstruction, bridge, concrete forming, environmental remediation, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Tailor estimates for unit rate and lump sum contracts
- Contribute to constructability, staging and schedule reviews
- Take off quantities from provided documents and propose labor, equipment and material resources
- Negotiate with sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure quotes meet requirements
- Participate in tender closings and write quotation letters
- Develop and maintain relationships with key players in the industry
- Review bid advertising websites and report leads
- Assist with site supervision during slower periods
- A Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management Diploma holder
- 3-7 years of experience as a civil construction estimator
- Detail-oriented with effective time management and organizational skills
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
