Job Summary

The Estimator position has responsibility for preparing proposals for the Canadian Professional Services Operations team involving field service and Turn Key projects including Mill Relines for our customers (end users). Also, coordinating project development and processing of customer orders once received. The objective of this position is to produce timely and accurate cost estimates and write competitive proposals that facilitate the successful sale and execution of these projects and provide technical / coordinating support in all phases.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely review of the customer\'s RFQ and distribution of specifications to relevant parties for their input.
  • Review contractual terms for consistency with proposal and corporate policies.
  • Work in conjunction with Market Area, Sales Support, and Business Line to make bid / no-bid decisions and establish bid strategies.
  • Work in conjunction with Sales Support, Project Engineering, and external vendors as required to ensure a fit-for-purpose field service solution is developed.
  • Work in conjunction with field service and Market Area to prepare an accurate overall cost estimate for the project scope.
  • Utilize CRM system (Salesforce) for documentation and reporting of proposal activities and status by maintaining up-to-date and accurate system data.
  • Prepare detailed and precise bid documentation in accordance with Metso standard procedures and in compliance with customers\' bid requirements, identifying and documenting exceptions and clarifications.
  • Work with Procurement to ensure project deliverables are sourced and received on time.
  • Field and answer external / internal customer questions in a timely manner.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings as a hand-off to Project Management and prepare and provide a complete handover package including technical and commercial details.
  • Attend customer meetings as necessary to develop customer solutions and provide technical and commercial support in closing sales.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline relevant to the position or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in Proposals with OEM serving mining or other heavy equipment industries preferred.
  • SalesForce and SAP experience is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver\'s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of Minerals capital equipment products.
  • Fundamental knowledge of commercial and legal terms and conditions.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings.
  • High degree of precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with a bias for action.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask and prioritize various activities to ensure timely and accurate compliance with schedule and budget requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with customers, visitors, co-workers, management, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory inspectors.
  • Polished customer relations and good interpersonal relations skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, power point).
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines.
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and effectively communicate with others. Must be comfortable communicating in shop/plant environments.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, climb and/or balance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Required use of keyboards, telephones, copiers, fax, visits and movement through shops, and travel experiences.
  • Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, including climbing up and down multiple flights by way of stairs or ladders when working in the field, as well as ability to react to audible warnings when working in the field.
  • Able to travel occasionally, both domestic and international, plus or minus 20%.

- Assurer l\'examen en temps opportun de la demande de prix du client et la distribution des sp\xc3\xa9cifications aux parties concern\xc3\xa9es pour leur contribution.

- Examiner les conditions contractuelles pour v\xc3\xa9rifier leur coh\xc3\xa9rence avec la proposition et les politiques de l\'entreprise.

- Travailler en collaboration avec le secteur des ventes, le soutien aux ventes et les divisions d\'affaires pour prendre des d\xc3\xa9cisions concernant les offres et les refus d\'offres et \xc3\xa9tablir des strat\xc3\xa9gies d\'offres.

- Travailler en collaboration avec le service des ventes, l\'ing\xc3\xa9nierie de projet et les fournisseurs externes, le cas \xc3\xa9ch\xc3\xa9ant, pour s\'assurer qu\'une solution de service en chantier adapt\xc3\xa9e est d\xc3\xa9velopp\xc3\xa9e.

- Travailler en collaboration avec le service en chantier et le secteur des ventes pour pr\xc3\xa9parer une estimation pr\xc3\xa9cise du co\xc3\xbbt global du projet.

- Utiliser le syst\xc3\xa8me de gestion de la relation client (Salesforce) pour documenter et rendre compte des activit\xc3\xa9s et de l\'\xc3\xa9tat d\'avancement des propositions en tenant \xc3\xa0 jour les donn\xc3\xa9es du syst\xc3\xa8me.

- Pr\xc3\xa9parer des documents d\'offre d\xc3\xa9taill\xc3\xa9s et pr\xc3\xa9cis conform\xc3\xa9ment aux proc\xc3\xa9dures standard de Metso et aux exigences des clients en mati\xc3\xa8re d\'offre, en identifiant et en documentant les exceptions et les clarifications.

Qualifications et exp\xc3\xa9rience
