Reporting to the Corporate Environmental Director, the incumbent is responsible to aid in maintaining environmental compliance at site level within a major organization in constant evolution. In this role, the Environmental Advisor is involved in maintaining; company procedures, follow-ups and preparing reports for the authorities, compliance and policies. This role provides professional guidance, support, to the organization environmental activities. The head office will offer technical support to the incumbent and head office will review reports as well as being responsible in making the final decisions. A strong collaborative approach in the implementation of programs and initiatives is essential in the success of this role. Travelling will be required in-between locations in the Atlantic provinces and the state of Maine. Responsibilities
  • Provide environmental regulatory compliance support and reports findings, concerns, and deficiencies with the aid of the Corporate Environmental Director.
  • Aid with collection of sound monitoring data.
  • Aid in the collection of data for Air Quality Monitoring.
  • Coordinate Environmental site monitoring activities and related documentation.
  • Act as point of contact for local, provincial or federal regulatory groups within assigned regional area of responsibility.
  • Participate in and manage internal field audits and inspections.
  • Review and aid in overseeing regional safety plans with the Health and Safety Director.
  • Act as a liaison with outside organizations (e.g., fire & police departments, etc.) to promote open communications, prepare response plans and to ensure comprehensive support in case of HSE emergency.
  • Prepare subject matter and sit on a Community Liaison Committee for the AIM Facility.
  • Manage public complaints and follow-ups.
  • Act as a resource regarding environmental considerations to production teams.
  • Participate with the local areas in activities such as safety meetings, tabletop exercises, emergency responses, security related incidents and investigations and inspections.


Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-5 years of Environmental experience.
  • Minimum university degree in a relevant field.
  • Ability to effectively work within a group and problem solve.
  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work requirements effectively.
  • Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft applications and web applications.
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills to offer training sessions.
