Summary

The Engineering Technical Specialist acts as the primary support contact for specific core technologies within Dome Production\xe2\x80\x99s facilities. This position is the frontline for assessment and remedy of technical issues and requires a critical technical mindset for troubleshooting problems. The ideal candidate has a passion for continued learning and problem solving working in a live broadcast support environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary support specialist for core technologies within Dome Production\xe2\x80\x99s facilities
  • Interfaces directly with field engineers to diagnose faults and determine root cause to resolve identified issues that are affecting operational status of Dome\xe2\x80\x99s mobile units
  • Provides operational and configuration support and guidance to end users
  • Maintains communication and relationships with manufacturer technical support for issue escalation and firmware/software updates
  • Coordinates with members of the Engineering Maintenance Department for facility access, manpower resourcing and outward communication to the organization
  • Designs and creates operational procedures and documentation to aid others in effective operation
  • Recommends preventative maintenance based on historical issue evaluation
  • Maintains, organizes and updates the technical solution repository
  • Participates in the management and assessment of spares for specific technology responsibility areas
  • Participates in the support ticketing system
Critical Qualifications
  • BS or Certified Diploma in Engineering or other Advanced Technical Related Field Degree.
  • 8+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a Television broadcast support environment
  • Demonstrated specific knowledge of Evertz video/audio routing systems: EQX, EMR, SDVN and Magnum
  • Experience with SMPTE ST 2110 is an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and networking fundamentals
  • Thorough knowledge of broadcast technical equipment and component parts
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment and deal with emergencies as they arise.
  • Must be detailed-orientated, multi-tasking, self-directed with proven ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to meet timelines
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to be flexible
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Efficient in using Word, Excel and a strong knowledge in computer operations
  • Must be able to travel both locally and internationally
