Find your future with us. Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking an Engineering Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager Production Engineering, to join our team in our Winnipeg, MB location. This role will have responsibility for leading one or more teams of Engineers that develop and sustain composite manufacturing products/processes. Boeing Winnipeg is the largest composites manufacturer in Canada and has more than 1,000 employees. Our site manufactures parts for all commercial airplane programs (737, 737MAX, 747, 767, 777, 777X, and 787) at our 600,000+ square foot facility. Our dedicated Engineering teams include NC Programming, Product Review Liaison Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Tool Planning/Engineering, Research & Technology, Design & Stress Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, and an Innovation Lab. Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads employees performing engineering activities.
  • Interacts with senior leaders or executives concerning matters of significance to the Company.
  • Represent the organizational unit as prime internal and external contact on contracts or operations.
  • Develops and drives project and process plans implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides guidance and approval of technical approaches products and processes.
  • Leads, develops, and motivates team members.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a related engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills (informal or formal role)
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant field of Engineering and be registered with the Engineer Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) as a Professional Engineer
  • Must be willing to work variable shifts on occasion, as the candidate may be assigned to cover second, or third shift
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
  • 3+ years of management or supervisory experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Composites and Metal structures
  • Knowledge and experience in composite manufacturing, composite materials and processes and composite testing
  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing and assembly of metallic structures Experience in Commercial Airplane Development
  • Experience in Airplane Maintainability and Commercial Aviation Services support
Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Additional Information: This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
