Uberflip is a marketing technology company founded in 2012 and headquarters in Toronto. Customer-facing teams use the Uberflip platform to package marketing collateral into mini, personalized websites that educate buyers on their product or service. Uberflip's core product features enable marketers to centralize and organize all their content, drive consumption with an AI-powered recommendation engine, and get data and analytics to measure and optimize the performance of content and campaigns. Our Uberflip Analytics & Enrichment give marketers the ability to integrate their favourite tech with our platform.

We are currently looking for an exceptional Software Engineering Manager with expertise in frontend technologies to build and mature our engineering and development practices and be a part of an amazing growth story as we continue to define an industry. You will help define and drive the product and engineering vision and roadmap for your team, breaking down unclear requirements into actionable tasks. You are a mentor and advocate for your team, and raise the bar directly and through hiring efforts for your team and the department as a whole.

Responsibilities:

  • Build roadmaps and develop a long-term team vision in partnership with other stakeholders
  • Assess requirements and constraints to make good decisions quickly
  • Manage, mentor and guide a team of highly-skilled software engineers, and maintain a healthy, collaborative culture reflecting our core values
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to continuously drive business value
  • Capacity planning for your team and direct involvement in hiring efforts
  • Raise the bar for your team and the engineering organization through mentoring and recruitment
  • Proactively identify and clear roadblocks

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience as a software engineer
  • 2+ years experience managing and mentoring engaged and productive teams
  • Experience architecting sustainable and maintainable front-end applications using TypeScript and React
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training or work experience
  • Very strong communicator; verbal, written, visual or otherwise, you know how to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Understand the importance and value of measurability and observability, and these principles drive your work
  • Experience with capacity planning and recruiting software engineers
  • Experience navigating ambiguity and defining work that engineers of all levels can execute on
  • A passion for architecting and building highly scalable, reliable, and performant software
  • Experience with or exposure to Agile/Scrum, and iterative development processes
  • Driven by people management and mentorship
