NOTE: This is a remote, full-time permanent, work-from-home position and is open to all applicants from across Canada. We will provide you with everything you need to succeed in your role.
What you will be doing:

  • Lead a high performing engineering team, by recruiting and retaining talent
  • Working closely with fellow Engineering Managers, Product, Salesforce, QA, Design, PMs, and Devops teams to define roadmap
  • Creating, enhancing, and owning our development processes (CI/CD, Jira processes, code reviews, unit tests, integration tests, etc)
  • Hands-on development (limited), jumping into the codebase and contributing code
  • Guiding, coaching, and mentoring engineering team members, frequent 1:1s
  • Contributing to our technical scoping sessions and providing/vetting technical recommendations
  • Conveying company vision/goals to our development team

What you should already have:
  • 3+ years experience as an Engineering manager, focused on Frontend
  • 8+ years of progressive experience with software development in a Product/SaaS based environment
  • Strong experience leading teams through the development cycle of projects from start to finish
  • Strong communication, getting the team’s buy in and aligning technical initiatives
  • Working knowledge of the Salesforce platform
  • A deep understanding of git, and how it ties into release management (ie: gitflow, trunk based dev)
  • A deep understanding of building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working in an agile environment with a set release cadence
  • Bonus - experience in the e-commerce space (including shopping cart APIs, payment gateways, etc.) would be a plus
  • Bonus - experience with our tech stack: Javascript, Vue/Nuxt, PHP/Laravel, AWS Lambda (Python/Node), serverless/SAM framework, RDS (mysql/postgres), elastic search, Docker, Jenkins
  • Bonus - Working withinSAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) set up.
