Learn more about careers at Irving Shipbuilding: .Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking an Engineer, Planning Governance.The Engineer, Planning Governance will be part of the team responsible for developing and facilitating the structures and processes that establish the Planning functions strategic direction, professional standards, oversee the delivery of compliant and consistent outputs, monitor key risks, and report on the functions performance. The successful candidate will govern the Planning function, which includes three departments: Master Scheduling, Production Planning, and Industrial Engineering.This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Candidates who require accommodation during the selection process are invited to contact .Qualifications:\xc2\xb7 Education:o Post-secondary degree in Engineering.o P.Eng or actively engaged and interested in professional certification.o Equivalent experience in shipbuilding, manufacturing, construction or related will be considered.\xc2\xb7 Experience: A minimum of 4 years of professional experience.\xc2\xb7 Experience working on cross-functional project teams.\xc2\xb7 Experience managing a variety of concurrent tasks and small projects.\xc2\xb7 Strong applied critical thinking skills with proven ability to solve problems.\xc2\xb7 Strong written communication skills, with experience writing reports, guides, presentations, etc.\xc2\xb7 Strong oral communication skills, including experience presenting to large groups and communicating with a variety of stakeholders across all levels in an organization.\xc2\xb7 Embraces continual improvement and the application of best practices.\xc2\xb7 Competent with current industry accepted software such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, etc.\xc2\xb7 Experience in quality, continual improvement, and/or process development an asset.\xc2\xb7 Experience with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems and auditing, or willingness to complete training within the first year of employment.All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).Key Responsibilities:\xc2\xb7 Develop and maintain the Governance teams documentation and processes.\xc2\xb7 Develop tools in Microsoft Office and applications in SharePoint to support Governance documentation and processes.\xc2\xb7 Act as subject matter expert in the development and management of the Planning functions processes.\xc2\xb7 Support leadership in strategic and improvement initiatives.\xc2\xb7 Coach Planning function team members and conduct training on the Governance teams documentation, processes, tools, and applications.\xc2\xb7 Evaluate the Planning functions adherence to the Governance processes.\xc2\xb7 Monitor quality management system metrics for the Planning function.What We Offer:
