For over 100 years, the Mike Petryk School of Dentistry has been Western Canada's premiere school for oral health-care professionals. Our mandate is to provide all students with excellent educational programming and appropriate facilities for their learning. In return, we provide the public with quality research and oral health care.

Position Summary




Do you have a passion for creating unforgettable experiences? Reporting to the Strategic Execution and Change Manager, the Engagement Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing multiple regularly occurring, strategic and ad hoc events throughout the year, as well as marketing and internal engagement activities within the Mike Petryk School of Dentistry. The Engagement Coordinator is a champion for enhancing program registrations and engaging the School of Dentistry community.

Duties



Develop, plan and execute on event plans that outline purpose, goals/ objectives, logistics, tone, program, budget, etc. Ensure event objectives align with goals and objectives of the Mike Petryk School of Dentistry and comply with event planning policies and procedures. Create and maintain an award tracking system including ordering award plaques, creating certificates, and ensuring up-to-date records are posted to DentraNet with new award recipients. Engage in special projects as assigned such as bi-monthly patient newsletters, supporting fundraising activities, managing records and google sites, creating signage and posters, etc. Coordinate, design and maintain the school's intranet and public website including updating, writing and posting content. Monitor site performance and utilization activities to optimize usability and appeal. Work with various stakeholders in the school to identify opportunities to create, host and distribute interactive content for the purposes of increasing employee engagement.

Minimum Qualifications



Bachelor's degree preferred, or a combination of marketing, public relations and/or event management diploma and experience Minimum of five years of experience that includes event or project planning and implementation and stakeholder engagement, preferably in a post-secondary environment Demonstrated organizational, planning, and time management skills Ability to work independently and effectively with cross-functional teams Excellent oral communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills Proficiency in multiple software programs (Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, Canva, Adobe, lnDesign, Photoshop, email marketing software, online payment systems and website management systems)

Preferred Qualifications




Experience with/in:

Coordinating and running zoom and google meet webinars and virtual meetings Website development or maintenance (Cascade level 1 & 2) including how to use basic HTML and apply existing CSS classes to content Project management Health care industry
