Energy Manager
(12-Month Contract)
Based in Vancouver the Energy Manager will report to the Director, Sustainability and will work directly with QuadReal properties to review and analyze their energy consumption. You will focus on creating efficiencies and meeting or exceeding our target reductions. You will work with property teams, project teams and the sustainability team to evaluate and recommend new technologies, advocate for efficiency projects, investigate government incentive programs and support development of transition plans. This individual will have a passion for energy conservation and a strong desire to support QuadReal on its sustainability journey.


As a
n Energy Manager You Will:
  • Help BC properties to use electricity more effectively and advance electrification of heating systems
  • Assist QuadReal properties with setting energy and GHG targets that drive down tenant costs and improve building performance on green certifications


  • Facilitate training sessions to educate property teams on the energy/sustainability management systems
  • Monitor and analyze QuadReal\xe2\x80\x99s cloud-based energy software to find opportunities for improvement and produce reports that highlight where additional emphasis and focus is needed
  • Create visually appealing data analysis that helps senior leaders focus on the critical trends and stories requiring additional intervention
  • Manage EV charging station roll-out program
  • Actively support net zero carbon transition planning and tracking


  • Work with other teams to identify incentive funding opportunities across the portfolio


Your Background:
  • Five years of relevant experience in sustainability or analytics, along with working knowledge of utility data. Experience managing data and processes in an EMS (Energy Management System) is an asset


  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related discipline, such as environmental management, science, business or engineering. Alternatively, a registered professional engineer or engineering technologist or Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, and other databases
  • Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships and adapt to different communication styles (writing reports, budgets and business cases)
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment
  • Experience creating infographics highly preferred
