We are dedicated to innovation and continuous improvement, actively pursuing new business development projects and upgrades to enhance our operations and sustainability efforts.We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Energy and Compliance Engineer to join our team on a 1-year contract to assist with various energy-related initiatives and compliance tasks. This position is located on-site at our Whitecourt, AB mill site facility.Key Responsibilities of the Energy and Compliance Engineer:

• Assist in preparation of procedures to ensure compliance with Alberta Reliability Standards for the Power Plant.
• Work with the Energy Coordinator closely to analyze and report on energy consumption to reduce costs for the mill and power plant.
• Develop and maintain energy management procedures and train operators on various initiatives that are newly developed.
• Assist in Tracking energy usage, implement policies and strategies to reduce energy usage, and increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with external parties on energy audits and implement findings.
• Participate in monthly KPI presentations and provide operator training.
• Collect and report GHG emission data for verification and compliance.
• Identify and apply for federal and provincial funding for energy and GHG reduction projects.
• Communicate energy performance and strategies to stakeholders, including senior management.

Requirements of the Energy and Compliance Engineer:

• Bachelor\'s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business, or a related field with an emphasis on energy and facilities management.
• Minimum of 1-3 years prior experience in energy management, mechanical or process systems design, construction, operation, and/or maintenance, or a closely related field is preferred.
• Previous experience that provides a working knowledge of energy management program development
• Previous experience managing budgets and personnel,
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications of the Energy and Compliance Engineer:

• Solid technical background.
• Industry-based experience.
• Commitment to safety.
• Ability to build strong and supportive relationships with coworkers.
• Good communication and technical skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI and new technologies.
