Employer Liaison/Job Coach
who excels at building strong employer relationships, promoting inclusive hiring practices, and supporting clients in achieving sustainable employment. If you're a natural connector with insight into the local labour market and a talent for creating opportunities, we want to hear from you!
Reporting to the Program Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with Employment Counselors to understand client goals and develop tailored marketing plans, including support with resumes, interviews, and networking strategies. The role involves actively engaging employers through outreach and events, maintaining an employer database, and generating job leads that result in long-term employment outcomes. This position also includes facilitating access to job-related experiences for clients with multiple barriers, monitoring progress and outcomes, administering financial supports, and ensuring accurate documentation and billing in alignment with WorkBC policies. Regular reporting, collaboration with colleagues, community engagement, and meeting performance targets are key components of the role.
Qualifications
==================
The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in Business Administration or Marketing, or equivalent experience, with 1-2 years of experience supporting clients with complex needs, including mental health, addictions, and homelessness. They possess strong knowledge of the local labour market and connections to the business community. A valid, unrestricted BC driver's license and reliable transportation are needed.
The role requires flexibility for evening and weekend work, comfort in a performance-based environment, and the ability to support clients with multiple barriers. Key skills include resume writing, understanding of wage subsidies, cultural sensitivity, confidentiality, teamwork, and strong organizational abilities. A second language is an asset.
This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
