Wood is seeking an Electrical Designer to join their growing Mining and Minerals team in Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Design and Drafting for Electrical packages including cable tray layouts, lighting and grounding, power layouts, equipment lists, schematics, wiring diagrams, 3D modelling.
  • Implement project CAD procedures and guidelines.
  • Design calculations which include voltage drop, lighting levels, cable tray fill and heat trace wattage.
  • Populating electrical load and cable lists.
  • Check layouts, review overall presentation, and maintain quality control of all designs and packages presented.
  • Co-ordination of drawing packages for issue and prepare issue folders for electronic files.
  • Develop and enhance project CAD systems.
Skills / Qualifications

Post-Secondary Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology

5+ years of demonstrated experience as an Electrical Designer on industrial projects.

Familiar with systems such as cable tray, lighting, fire alarm, electrical distribution, small power, and schematic diagram development.

Knowlege of Canadian Electrical Code and electrical design principles.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work within a

multi-disciplinary team environment.

Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work in both design office and operating plant environments.

Expertise using AutoCAD and working knowledge of 3D design/drafting software.
