Arcadis IBI Groups, Toronto West office is searching for an Electrical Designer to join its growing team. As an Electrical Designer you will be participating in the electrical systems\xe2\x80\x99 building design on the electrical project team. The incumbent will be working on progressive and large scale transportation, industrial & commercial projects.

Most of the things you\'ll work on:

  • Prepares electrical designs and drawings of building facilities and building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, PA, IT, etc., using computer-aided tools (e.g. ETAP analytical software, CDEGS grounding software, REVIT, AutoCAD, and MicroStation CAD systems)
  • Assist to identify cost-effective solutions to design problems
  • Liaises internally with project managers, the electrical project engineer lead and other discipline project leaders to obtain project information and to discuss specific design related problems
  • Assists in creating and presenting technical reports regarding the nature, status, and results of design or study assignments
  • Requires the ability to recognize the implications of assigned work on the work of other disciplines, and ensures the necessary coordination occurs
Qualifications

You\'ll need to have:
  • A certificate or diploma in electrical engineering plus 5-10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in buildings electrical systems design preferred in a consulting or utility environment.
  • Must have or be eligible for the CET designation in BC.
  • Strong skills in the use of CAD systems including AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Strong skills in the use of the REVIT modeling system or a willingness to learn REVIT is required
  • Electrical design and specification experience in the following building systems: power distribution in buildings, lighting design, fire alarm systems, card access and camera security systems, PA systems, telecommunications systems and audio-visual systems
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Electrical Safety Code
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
