We're a growing tech company with some very cool opportunities. Our long-serving HR Manager is retiring, and we're looking for a high-energy builder to lead People Ops, culture and comp through our next stage of growth. You'll own hands-on execution and run a clean knowledge transfer.
HR Leadership & Strategy
Set a practical People roadmap (12-18 months) tied to business goals: org design, headcount, leadership support, change management.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
Own end-to-end
Canadian payroll
(salary/hourly, OT, off-cycle) using ADP.
Maintain strong controls with Finance: approvals, GL mapping, reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
Manage statutory remittances (CPP/QPP, EI, income tax), WSIB/WCB, EHT; year-end
T4/T4A
, RL-1 (if QC), and
ROEs
.
Manage group benefits, RRSP eligibility, enrollments, life events, vendor management, renewals, and cost/coverage optimization.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Support the operational teams with the hiring plan end-to-end; tighten employer brand, interview rigor, and time-to-hire.
People Operations & HRIS
Run day-to-day People Ops (on/off-boarding, contracts, records, policy hygiene).
Own HRIS/ATS and
payroll integrations
to automate manual work and improve data quality.
Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards
Maintain market-aligned salary bands/job architecture; run annual comp/merit cycles and bonus administration; ensure internal equity.
Employee Relations
Handle sensitive issues with discretion and balance; resolve conflicts early, within the spirit of our culture and of course within the legal framework.
Culture & Engagement
Jealously work with the CEO to support and develop our culture.
People Analytics & Reporting
Work with our BI team to develop and utilize dashboards/reporting for key areas: headcount, hiring, retention, payroll/comp costs, and key trends.
Transition & Knowledge Transfer
Lead a respectful, structured handover with the retiring HR Manager. In the first 30 days: document processes, close gaps, de-risk single points of failure, and deliver quick wins.
What You Bring
