What You'll Be Doing
As the first HR Manager at Bridgeway Connection Services, every day will bring the chance to build, shape, and influence how our people experience work. You won't just be maintaining systems , you'll be creating them. Here's how you'll make your mark:
Build HR Foundations:
Lay the groundwork for a sustainable future by developing policies, job descriptions, an employee handbook, and utilizing the HRIS system already in place.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Design and lead inclusive hiring practices that keep pace with our rapid growth, while creating onboarding experiences that make new employees feel valued from day one.
Employee Relations & Performance:
Partner with leaders to strengthen communication, resolve conflicts, and build a consistent performance management approach that develops and supports staff.
Compensation & Benefits:
Bring fairness and transparency by creating salary bands, ensuring pay equity, and administering payroll and benefits with care and confidentiality.
Compliance & Safety:
Protect our people and organization by ensuring we meet all Alberta Employment Standards, OHS, and privacy (PIPA) requirements while fostering a culture of safety.
Engagement & Culture:
Spark connection and belonging through wellness initiatives, recognition programs, and engagement strategies that strengthen retention and reinforce our mission-driven culture.
What We're Looking For
An experienced HR professional (5-7 years, with 3+ in a senior/management role).
Someone who has built HR functions or systems before. You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to ensure the foundations are properly built.
Strong knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, OHS, privacy laws (PIPA), and nonprofit HR practices.
A leader who thrives in change, champions DEI, and builds trust through integrity and collaboration.
CPHR designation (or eligibility) is an asset.
