The Company

B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Drill and Blast Engineer - Open Pit, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer - Open Pit, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.



Responsibilities

Plan and design drilling and blasting patterns, including all aspects of drilling, loading, and tie-ins; Ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) for all drilling and blasting activities; Lead projects focused on improving fragmentation, crest protection, and reducing costs; Conduct pattern and bench reconciliations and perform retroactive analyses to improve performance; Track and report end-of-month consumables (explosives, accessories, fuel, etc.); Coordinate daily activities with Technical Services and Operations teams to ensure smooth execution; Support daily, weekly, and three-month mine plans to align with quarterly and annual targets; Assist with strategic mine planning and quarterly forecasting; identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency; Provide backup support for open-pit mine planning tasks as needed; Promote and follow safe work practices; actively participate in company-wide safety programs; and Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports; maintain strong working relationships with staff, contractors, and consultants.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

Two (2) years of open pit mining experience in hard rock mining; preferably in a northern mining environment, and versed in all aspects of mine engineering application; Bachelor's Degree in Geological/Mine Engineering (BASc); Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and membership in the Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist or ability to obtain same; and Proficiency in mine planning and design software - Deswik, CAD, OPDB and Shotplus preferred.
