Rock Construction & Mining Inc. (RCMI) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drill and Blast Technician to work with our technical team on mining and construction projects across Canada. This position will be based out of our head office in Kamloops and will require regular travel to work sites.

Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the Project Manager, and VP of Operations.
• Designing drill patterns, tie-ins, loading instructions, and blast plans.
• Work with blasters / superintendents on explosive selection for projects.
• Field visits as needed to assess design parameters and perform surveys.
• Ensuring all drilling and blasting operations comply with safety regulations and guidelines.
• Monitoring and adjusting blast plans based on changing conditions or project requirements.
• Conducting blast performance evaluation and maintaining accurate drill and blast documentation.
• Providing technical support to drill and blast crew.
• Implementing strategies for continuous improvement in drilling and blasting operations.
• Utilizing software programs for blast design, analysis and prediction of blast outcomes.
• Coordinate with RCMI's operations, maintenance, and administrative teams to ensure projects are completed effectively.
• Continually monitor and assess design parameters and pro-actively make adjustments to optimize outcomes.
• Manage, track, and report on project deliverables as assigned, meeting RCMI and client objectives.
• Demonstrate leadership in safety and uphold RCMI's safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with RCMI's health, safety, and environment procedures and applicable industry regulations and best practice.
• Identify and address any deviations from quality standards promptly.
• Address client concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Foster positive client relationships to secure future business opportunities.

• The position is local to Kamloops, but travel will be required to specific projects outside of the area, within Canada.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License
• Ability to meet pre-employment requirements including clean driving abstract and Drug & Alcohol Clearance.
Desired Education:
• Engineering Degree or Diploma considered an asset.
• Preferred areas of study: Mining, Geomatics, Construction Management.
• Candidates without a degree/diploma will be considered with proven experience.
Desired experience:
• 3-5 Years experience in drill and blast design - including best practices and software programs.
• Civil 3D, MinePlan 3D, Vulcan, or similar.
• ShotPlus or similar.
• Surveying - GPS, Drone.
• Drilling and Blasting.
• Mining.
• Civil Construction - earthworks/infrastructure.
•Preference will be given to those candidates with proven experience in a mining background.•
