Electric Horsepower Inc., a fast-paced oilfield manufacturing company in Nisku, AB is looking for highly motivated Drafting Technologist. Currently EHP is manufacturing commercial electric heaters, environmental remediation units and refurbishing drilling rigs along with any ancillary equipment for local and international customers. The successful applicants will have a dynamic and proactive skill set with continual focus on client satisfaction, cost control and safety when performing the duties of this position. The applicant must also have an attention to detail to meet and exceed client needs and expectations, as well as the ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner. Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Create accurate and clear manufacturing drawings in compliance with drafting standards
- Follow and define company standards for document organization and part numbering
- Write technical documentation pertaining to products
- Create detailed marketing models, literature, and drawings for sales team
- Organize and maintain files, records, systems and procedures
- Receive guidelines from management for ranking project importance and deadlines
- Digitizes and enters data into the drawing management system to generate 3D models, assemblies and drawings
- Checks and verifies drawings to conform to specifications and design premises
- Designs equipment for developing new products or evaluating existing ones
- Provide all information to support procurement of all related components included in BOMs
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments including manufacturing, production, sales, and engineering to provide drawings that meet all requirements
- Inventor formal training and/or at least 4 years of experience using the software
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
- Knowledge of Drilling Rig and Well Servicing equipment
- Working towards an APEGA certification would be considered an asset
- Familiar with API Specifications
- Ability to work independently and cohesively within groups
- Exceptional organizational skills to meet tight schedules and deadlines with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and written
