Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Fundraising, Marketing & Communications, the Donor Experience Specialist will be an integral part of the fundraising team, providing essential administrative, fundraising and special event support to many members of the agency. The incumbent will be trusted to explore innovative solutions with the goal of enhancing operational and fundraising efficiencies. This role is ideal for someone who is excited by the opportunity to create order and process in a high performance environment. This is a hybrid role that allows flexibility for time spent working in the office and working remotely.
The main duties of the role include:
  • Ensuring key strategic deliverables associated with the fundraising team, are proactively initiated, tracked, and managed from start to completion
    Administering and operating the donor database (Raiser\xe2\x80\x99s Edge) maintaining accuracy, integrity, and security of all data and ensuring all donor and prospect activity is accurately captured
  • Supporting in the preparation of funding proposals, preparing gift acknowledgements and other donor correspondence
  • Acting as the main point of contact for donor tax receipting questions and donor administrative needs
  • Working in close collaboration with the accounting team to ensure all financial reports are updated and tax receipts are issued in a timely manner with appropriate acknowledgement
  • Cultivating relationships with current donors and supporting the fundraising team with identifying and developing relationships with prospective donors
  • Researching prospective donors and preparing reports
  • Planning and implementing the donor stewardship program, ensuring all members of the fundraising team complete their assigned tasks
  • Working alongside the Manager, Fund Development on key special event deliverables, including overseeing the sales pipeline, processing transactions, and answering inquiries
  • Acting as a representative of BBBST at various in-person events and meetings that support the work of the agency
  • Supporting with preparation for Board and other committee meetings

Experience and skills that are ideal for this role:
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience from a comparable fundraising work environment
  • Excellent administrative and project management skills, comfortable creating and implementing new business processes
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize and work independently
  • Knowledge of Canadian charity tax rules and familiar with tax receipting processes
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to write professional donor-facing communications
  • Exceptional customer service skills and experience working with donors
  • Ability to use discretion, judgement and tact when problem-solving and handling sensitive, confidential information
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders of varying levels of seniority
  • Experience working in Raiser\xe2\x80\x99s Edge or similar Donor Management System
