The Role
Responsible for driving to customer locations and installing, servicing, and repairing dock equipment and other industrial building accessories.
Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, service, and maintain all types of dock and door equipment.
Schedule and coordinate service in accordance with daily repair schedule.
Confer with customer on problems and issues.
Quote repair costs.
Perform safety and operational tests.
Complete and process necessary paperwork.
Perform minor repairs to the van such as replacing windshield wipers.
Service the van by having the oil changed, tire pressure checked, etc.
Maintain accurate van parts inventory levels in compliance with Branch Guidelines. Pick up parts and replenish van's inventory.
Maintain all required Safety Equipment supplied with van.
Complete all training as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Able to safely operate lift trucks and vehicles/service vans
Able to sit, stand, walk, bend/stoop/twist, squat, reach below knee level, grip/grasp, work with arm outstretched, and work above chest level
Able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Able to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 100 lbs., reach above shoulder level, climb stairs, climb ladders, torque, use vibratory tools, and pinch grip
Education and Qualifications
High school diploma
Valid driver's license
One to two years of prior experience (preferred)
Good mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics
Able to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics
Able to perform Mig, Tig, and Arc welding of mild steel
Must be familiar with tools and equipment
Basic computer skills and working knowledge Microsoft Office programs
Good organizational, customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
