Position Responsibilities: Level 1- Outsource
Receive and dispatch orders in a timely manner
Prioritize messages and calls according to urgency and importance
Maintain a comprehensive record of communication
Enter data in computer software and maintain logs and records as requested
Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions
Monitor the route and status of drivers/vehicles to coordinate and prioritize their schedule
Provide drivers information regarding orders, traffic obstacles and other requirements
Outsourcing of services in the most effective manner to meet daily requirements
Communicate with drivers to remind of proper vehicle conditions and defensive driving
Initiate action to improve performance
Coordinate with internal departments as required
Position Responsibilities: Level 2- Fleet
Displayed competence and understanding of the Dispatcher I position.
Receive and dispatch orders in a timely manner.
Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and messages.
Prioritize messages and calls according to urgency and importance.
Maintain a comprehensive record of communication.
Enter data in computer software and maintain logs and records as requested.
Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions.
Monitor the route and status of drivers/vehicles to coordinate and prioritize their schedule.
Provide drivers information regarding orders, traffic obstacles and other requirements.
Outsourcing of services in the most effective manner to meet daily requirements.
Communicate with drivers to remind of proper vehicle conditions and defensive driving.
Initiate action to improve performance.
Work with other departments to ensure request completed efficiently as required.
Ensure regular attendance and punctuality.
Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) considered an asset
5+ years of prior dispatching experience required
Sounds judgement and critical thinking during times of high volume
Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
Strong organizational and time management skills
Comfortable working within a team and independently
Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel and Outlook (comfortable attaching documents, working with multiple screens and multiple tabs).
High ability to pleasantly and professionally converse with individuals on the phone, transfer information accurately into company software and maintain high accuracy.
Flexible to work up to 40 hours a week between the hours of 6:00am and 11:00pm - set scheduling is provided.
Overtime willing as required (to support on weekends or when temporarily short staffed).
