The Human Resources (HR) Disability Management Consultant drives and participates in departmental and agency-wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe, healthy, and client-centered work environment. This role will interact with key stakeholders to address case-related matters and bring cases/files to resolution. Responsibilities include promoting the agency\xe2\x80\x99s Employee Assistance Program, providing claims management advice, disability case management, workplace injury case management, agency attendance management, workplace accommodations, and support return-to-work programs. The HR Disability Consultant ensures applicable legislation, policies, procedures, and agency standards are being met.

Requirements

  • University degree in human resource management, business administration, occupational health and safety, or related field of study.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is an asset.
  • Minimum four (4) years progressive experience in human resources. Preference would be given to those who have disability management.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with Saskatchewan\xe2\x80\x99s Occupational Health and Safety legislation, WCB legislation, and other applicable health and safety legislation.
  • Disability management knowledge including understanding the adjudication process and contractual requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of group disability insurance, absence management and related programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to facilitate effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders using tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, coach, mentor, and support others.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with effective presentation skills.
