Position Description:


Astral is looking for an experienced Director of Development and Real Estate Operations with a demonstrated track record in organizational leadership who will drive the National Operations and Development division. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Operations, Finance and Legal to drive Astral\xe2\x80\x99s strategic long-term priorities.
To be successful in this role, you must be excellent at partner and supplier management, cross-functional team leadership, be able to inspire and collaborate with all levels of an organization and have very strong business and financial acumen. Key Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the senior team and oversee the OOH Development and Real Estate Operations division
  • Lead a highly dedicated and passionate team of direct reports across multiple cities within Canada and provide guidance to shape and execute our long-term business strategy
  • Ensure the divisions priorities are aligned with the strategic vision of the organization while fostering a highly engaged team environment
  • Develop, manage and strengthen strategic partner relationships with key real estate operators, concessions and suppliers
  • Monitor industry trends and environmental changes that impact the OOH industry and guide necessary responses
  • Ensure all partner agreements are managed according to their terms, while enhancing overall relationships
  • Ensure contract lifecycles are consistently monitored by the Real Estate team and appropriate renewal steps are taken at the appropriate times for all agreements
  • Lead RFP responses and the development of proposals and strategies in partnership with key internal stakeholders
  • Monitor municipal bylaw changes and city counsel activities that impact the OOH industry across all major markets
  • Evaluate municipal and private OOH Development opportunities and drive recommendations based on overall potential value and fit with Astral\xe2\x80\x99s overall strategy
  • Work closely with Sales and Operations to drive the overall strategic development strategy
  • Work with Finance teams and ensure annual lease operating budgets are accurately forecasted and budgeted


Qualifications/ Competencies:


  • Experience in OOH and/or Real Estate Leasing Operations and Business Development
  • Experience working with municipal and provincial government agencies
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract development and management skills
  • Experience in managing, developing and driving financial budgets
  • Strong financial, analytical skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to influence key decision makers, internally and externally
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Power Point
  • Experience in coaching and developing regionally distributed teams
  • Ability to think creatively and lead multiple simultaneous projects and priorities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills \xe2\x80\x93 experience presenting to senior level executives
