The Tax Director is responsible for achieving expected results or completing strategy and action plans linked to the production of tax returns, the verification of regulatory compliance of financial and accounting practices, the Tax planning and Risk management linked to business operations.

What you're responsible for:

  • Ensuring the compliance of the different companies according to the Canadian and US regulations regarding income tax and various taxes.
  • Reviewing the tax returns of the Canadian companies and coordinating the preparation of the returns of the American companies.
  • Managing tax audits by various levels of governments.
  • Ensuring sales tax compliance for the companies and its coordination.
  • Overseeing responsibility for tax risk management.
  • Planning and optimizing any tax benefits or credits for the companies and their shareholders.
  • Collaborating with the finance and legal team on efficiently integrating acquired companies and best practices.
Qualifications
  • CPA or CA designation and advanced training in taxation.
  • 10+ years' of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and US tax practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/project simultaneously.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is required.
