What you will be doing:

This position is accountable for managing the Transient Segments for sales, advertising and promotional efforts within the hotel. The incumbent is responsible for the management of the total Sales and overall revenue generating efforts for the transient segments.
  • Directs all sales and marketing initiatives for Corporate Travel, Tour & Leisure and Luxury segments.
  • Prepares and administers the Transient Marketing Plan.
  • Develops, energizes and leads a motivated, competent and cohesive transient team consistent with the Hotel, Regional and Corporate needs through implementation of approved Talent and Culture and Sales Programs.
  • Is a leader in the Revenue/Management Team to ensure that maximum revenues/yields are achieved in the development, maintenance and education of DAAP, Strategic Rate Selling, Strategic Rate Pricing and will play a valued role in the development of the Strategic Direction Plan and the education of all members of the team to this direction.
  • Provides on-going direction to direct reports by conducting and implementing a coaching call program and provides guidance and direction to the development of segment action plans.
  • Provides the appropriate training programs to the sales/catering office team.
  • Directs the activities of outside agencies and internal staff on local and in-house advertising campaigns; supervises the production and distribution of literature and collateral.
  • Ensure the integrity of key account/key prospect database and monitors staff input for accuracy, thoroughness and coverage of local area.
  • Liaise with Marketing to stimulate additional profile within all markets, which complement the sales effort.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly and quarterly annual reports as required.
  • Coordinates and conducts periodic pricing reviews.
  • As required, participates in trade shows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade-related organizations.
  • Maintains open communication with Global Sales Office and Corporate Sales Office personnel
  • Takes an active role in Regional and Provincial Tourism Partnerships
  • Focus attention on prospecting new accounts which may be users of other regional, national and international destinations.
  • Takes responsibility for other duties as assigned.
  • Participates from time to time in select sales activities both on and off property.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with senior key account representatives.
  • Regularly entertains existing and potential clients.
  • Has ongoing personal involvement in community events
