What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director of Rooms, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Strategic planning and vision of the department including proactively seeking new initiatives to enhance service
  • Manage an effective preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for guest rooms, public areas, front and back of house areas and health club.
  • Maintain excellent communication and partnership with the engineering department with a combined goal of identifying efficiencies
  • Liaise with Front Office, other related departments to coordinate guest service including lost and found requests and resolve emerging issues promptly while responding to guest feedback promptly
  • Effective recruitment, selection, development and training of leaders and colleagues including performance reviews and focus on career development
  • Ensure high morale through recognition and the removal of identified barriers
\xc2\xb7 Maintain an effective and consistent quality inspection program adhering to corporate and property policies and standards
  • Attend weekly/daily meetings as required and communicate effectively
  • Maintain an effective purchasing program that ensures effective par levels are maintained for all guest/operating supplies, within budgeted/forecasted constraints
  • Ensure that necessary resources and functional tools / equipment including uniforms and linen are readily available to teams
  • Effective forecasting, scheduling, payroll, vacation planning and department productivity results to budget
  • Responsible for executing departmental capital plans
  • Follow-through on accommodation related V.O.G. responses
  • Monitor/ departmental health & safety tools including WSBC and WHMIS training programs, policies and practices and revise as needed
  • Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times and that colleagues are committed to working safely, includes emergency response and readiness
Your experience and skills include:

\xc2\xb7 A proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and work well under pressure

\xc2\xb7 Minimum of 3-5 years experience in leadership position with proven training and team building skills, Housekeeping supervisory experience a definite asset.

\xc2\xb7 Highly organized, strong in administration, results-oriented, able to make decisions and empower employees to ensure that they exceed guest expectations

\xc2\xb7 Must have excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills both written and oral - sets the example for "team"

\xc2\xb7 Proactive with a meticulous eye for detail - standards oriented

\xc2\xb7 Must be health and safety conscious and actively involved in enhancing workplace wellness

\xc2\xb7 Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Ability to work flexible schedule, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when needed

Physical Job Requirements include:
  • Split time between walking/standing on guest floors and sitting at desk
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, bending
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
