Every Amilian is incredibly invested in our mission to disrupt the status quo and help our clients achieve great things.What you can expect: As the Director of Finance at Amilia, you will be a key player in driving financial efficiency and strategic decision-making within our organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a team responsible for financial operations, compliance, and strategic financial accuracy. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be a key player in refining our financial systems, with exciting projects like launching a new ERP and opportunities to collaborate closely with our product team, this role goes beyond traditional treasury and accounting duties. Your expertise will help shape the financial landscape of Amilia, ensuring that our processes and strategies align with our business goals.You will be responsible for:Financial Leadership and Strategy:

  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and management of ERP systems and financial technology.
  • Optimize daily cash flow and manage foreign exchange and interest rate risks.
  • Provide financial expertise to support the product management team as a subject matter expert, particularly in accounting and reporting features.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including negotiation and management of software licenses.
  • Assist the CFO during financing activities.
Financial Operations and Accounting Accuracy:
  • Supervise the monthly closing process, ensuring accurate financial analysis and timely reporting.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports for stakeholders.
  • Oversee payroll production and government remittances.
  • Lead the annual financial audit and finalize audited financial statements.
  • Engage with department leaders to review performance against budgets and previous years.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with external financial stakeholders.
Policies, Compliance, and Improvements:
  • Structure and supervise disbursement processes, ensuring timely reconciliation of accounts payable.
  • Implement and maintain compliance with U.S. and Canadian sales tax policies.
  • Establish best practices for improving the monthly closing process.
  • Ensure adherence to all financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Manage insurance policies and coverage.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Foster a collaborative and inspiring team environment.
  • Provide clear guidance on team priorities and manage daily operations.
  • Conduct performance reviews and develop career growth plans.
  • Identify training needs and provide necessary coaching.
What we want from you:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in finance or accounting; CPA designation required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with accounting systems like Xero or NetSuite is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills in both French and English.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools
