About you

Cidel is looking to hire an experienced professional to join their team, driving the continued growth of the firm's asset management business. This role can be located in downtown Toronto or Calgary, with a preference for Toronto. Cidel's Institutional business has been rapidly growing, offering institutional clients access to leading global investment solutions across actively managed equities and fixed income, alternatives, and multi-asset solutions.

The Director, Institutional Sales, will be responsible for developing and maintaining key institutional relationships to grow Cidel's business and assets under management across the investment platform.

The role will leverage their deep institutional contact network and relationships, to discover suitable investment solutions and build meaningful connections from institutions, family offices, consultants, wealth platforms and institutional stakeholders across North America.

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:

Experience in an institutional client facing or consulting role

A strong understanding of the alternatives market and familiarity with hedge funds, private equity, private debt, private real estate, impact investing and other alternative investment strategies, which will be considered an asset

A network of institutional relationships you can leverage for success in this role

An undergraduate degree preferably in commerce, finance, or economics. A CFA and CIM is considered an asset

A minimum of 5 years of experience in any of the following disciplines: investment consulting, fundraising/sales, equity capital markets or research, or investor relations

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience dealing with a wide variety of individuals at various levels within and outside of the organization

The ability to travel

Excellent organizational skills and capabilities to effectively manage priorities, while meeting timelines under pressure

A high level of motivation, organized and a proactive self-starter,

Demonstrated commitment to shared success and an ability to work effectively in a team or independently - an adaptable team player,

Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
