Can "Make it Brilliant".BE A PART OF THE NEW FUTURE FOR THE MARRIOTT OTTAWAAs one of InnVest Hotels premium assets, plans are well underway to begin a complete renovation of all guestrooms, meeting and event space as well as all public areas, commencing in 2023.We are looking for a strategic and creative sales leader that will champion the sales organization, model a positive mindset and align the sales actions with the company's go-to-market strategy.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: Member of the Executive Committee and work closely with all Executive Team members in planning and executing the hotel's goals and objectives. Plan, supervise, improve and evaluate the sales activities at the hotel to meet and exceed business plan goals using sales development, sales and events promotion, and sales force administration and development. Model and communicate the company's mission, vision, and values. Supervise and coordinate day-to-day sales operations to ensure they are properly focused to meet business plan goals and objectives by:o Creating and implementing tactical action plan(s).o Reviewing sales contracts, establishing rate guidelines, and distributing leads to appropriate Sales and Event Managers.o Setting annual segmented revenue goals for Sales and Event Managerso Monitoring and evaluating progress towards the attainment of the annual booking PACE and volume negotiated room night objectives.o Developing and proactively managing relationships with the Marriott Global Sales office and local Tourism Bureau. Assist GM and participate in the development and execution of a strategic business plan by providing and analyzing projected market data. Develop, monitor, and control the annual advertisement and Sales & Events expense budget. Ensure cost containment following productivity expectations. Develop proactive Sales & Events strategies against local and national accounts. Develop the optimum deployment of staff against competition, local and national accounts. Identify and maximize opportunities to broaden the hotel's market share by coordinating promotions such as sales blitzes, trade show presentations, and participation in industry events. Plan, supervise and evaluate the work of Hosts engaged in the sales of rooms, convention-related food and beverage, and public space. This includes implementing incentive programs to stimulate increased productivity and establishing measurable standards of performance. Receive and interpret market share data to identify trends that affect sales and maintain a tracking system to produce sales statistics and identify opportunities for increasing revenue and market share. Participate with Revenue Management team to review and develop forecast, analyze and identify market trends and discuss tactics to increase business volumes. Enhance customer relations and increase business by soliciting sales personally on selected accounts and maintaining an active role in the community, civic, and industry organizations. Promote and encourage inter-departmental cooperation and communication to improve customer service and overall satisfaction by coordinating inter-departmental sales activities and conducting weekly sales & events meetings. Responsible for all areas of marketing and public relations, including business development, digital marketing, and online reputation. Overseas social media strategy and ensures it is in line with overall business and marketing goals. Other reasonable duties as required.JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education/Experience and skills

  • Progressive sales and event managerial experience.
  • 5+ years of hospitality sales leadership.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations.
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of hotel computer systems, including Marriott systems: CI/TY, One Yield, and Marsha, as well as M3, Excel and Word.
  • Marketing creative design skills an asset.
  • Effective negotiating skills.
  • Effective change management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Extremely well organized with superb attention to detail.
  • Must have a good understanding of group dynamics and making presentations; customer profiles.
