The properties are surrounded by the natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies and are ideally situated in the heart of the town of Banff. The hotels have spacious guest rooms and suites and offer over 2,500 SF of function space. In addition, the hotels provide luxurious amenities including a spa, indoor heated pools and saunas, fitness space, and food and beverage offerings.THE ROLE: LEAD THE CHARGE -The Director of Sales & Marketing position is responsible for directing the sales and marketing efforts of the "Banff Collection" in order to maximize revenue. The incumbent will be responsible to lead the dynamic sales team, coordinate all marketing initiatives and proactively sell hotel rooms, meeting and event space with a significant revenue contribution.ACTIVITIES: The duties of the "Collection" Director of Sales & Marketing include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Strategist for Sales, Marketing and Profitability Initiatives;
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan and budget to achieve established sales objectives;
  • Work in parallel with the General Manager to maximize sales and profits and establish a selling price strategy;
  • Provide the team with resources, training, coaching and moral support to do a good job. Provide orientation and ongoing development support, ensuring that training programs are consistent with individual career goals;
  • Act as a coach who is able to challenge and empower their team in revenue growth;
  • Participate in internal and external business activities and lead the team to maximize the different market segments;
  • Develop and implement marketing programs. Maximize on, regional and national resources while taking responsibility for the results of the hotel;
  • Provide overall hotel marketing leadership with revenue generation initiatives and ROI controls;
  • Establish public relations links in the various markets and ensure the representation of the hotels in the community through partnerships and participation in events in order to keep the hotels at the top of the list;
  • Ensures teamwork with department heads as a sales and marketing specialist. Maintain open communication with regional and corporate teams;
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required;
  • Assume responsibility for other tasks as required.
COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:
  • Diploma in Hotel Management Studies
  • Previous 3-5 years progressive professional experience in the hotel market, including at least two years as Sales Director or equivalent
  • Effective and creative sales leadership with a high level of professionalism
  • Highly motivated and proven team player.
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving revenue goals
  • Marketing creative design skills an asset
  • Effective negotiating skills.
  • Good presentation and platform skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of computer programs
  • Ability to analyze and interpret any financial data
  • Dynamic temperament and exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Effective and creative leadership with a high level of professionalism
