The Director, Data Science & Analytics is responsible for developing the strategy and solutions for integration and flow of enterprise reporting data. This role works closely with the Business Intelligence team to specify data models and technical reporting requirements to support the production of management and operational reports. The Director will work with various teams across Canada Goose to design solutions for strategic, operational and analytic data applications, and will identify and pilot technology innovation potential in the areas of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Qualifications
Key Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for information technologies to support management and operational reporting requirements
  • Analyse raw data and existing datasets to define data mining and statistical modelling algorithms
  • Design and construct new processes for data modeling and production using prototypes, algorithms, predictive models, and custom analysis
  • Oversee development of reports, dashboards, and information artifacts to surface key data
  • Facilitate system feasibility studies, proof of concepts, pilot projects, and testing
  • Pilot technology innovations to make advances with machine learning and artificial intelligence to support advanced analytics data models
  • Conduct research and remain current with the latest data technologies and solutions
  • In collaboration with other Technology teams, propose and maintain all key data management policies and procedures, including those for data architecture and standards
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end-users regarding information-based decision-making

Experience, Education and Designations:
  • BA/BS or Masters in a field that emphasizes data analysis and visualization (e.g., computer science, social sciences, physical sciences, math, engineering, or statistics), or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years related work experience. 7+ years of experience delivering analytics solutions in an enterprise environment
  • 5+ years of experience with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Analytics related technologies
  • 5+ years of experience delivering data visualization solutions
  • 5+ years of experience using modern BI tools like Power BI, Quick Sight, Birst, Tableau, or Domo
