Scope of Position

Reporting to the VP, Finance Platform, Capital Markets, the Director, Data Integration & Performance Platform leads a team of business system analysts and technical analysts that support and deliver change to data management and performance measurement products, as well as our investment data warehouse, and provide data integration services across mission critical investment systems supporting OMERS Capital Markets. As the lead product manager for this scope of services, the incumbent will be responsible for understanding and delivering against department objectives, and the needs of our internal partners.

This incumbent will drive strategic initiatives that will enhance the capital markets data & analytics capabilities at OMERS, and will be required to have a deep understanding of modern trends in data management, architecture, cloud infrastructure, and utilities, through continuous learning and industry engagement.

Responsibilities

Lead the execution of transformation initiatives to modernize OMERS\xe2\x80\x99 data management and performance measurement capabilities for Finance in support of Capital Markets.

Develop product strategies and roadmaps.

Manage the end-to-end delivery of changes to the investment data warehouse and performance applications.

Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of investment data, P&L and performance to internal partners. Includes assisting in the root cause analysis and resolution of data quality issues by tracing data lineage and analyzing technical processes.

Engage partners to identify and prioritize new features through pro-active engagement and maintenance of the product backlog.

Lead two layered teams, comprising of analysts to senior managers, with vision, clarity, and technical expertise, providing relevant coaching for professional development.

Partner with Capital Markets Finance and Data & Technology experts to deliver data integration and reporting solutions, including integrations between order and execution management, accounting, data warehouse, and performance systems.

Facilitate vendor governance processes to influence the product roadmap and escalate service issues.

Develop and institute solution design principles that are forward-thinking and optimize for efficacy, sustainability, and time to market.

Use metrics and feedback to improve organizational processes, implement best practices, and enhance performance, creating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Mature change delivery processes and drive a transformation to Agile and DevOps.

Track and report on product roadmaps, completed work, capacity, backlog, KPIs, etc.

Document and maintain key processes and controls, for training, continuity, and audit purposes.

Develop relationships among partners by supporting a culture of transparency, collaboration, and service excellence.

Influence and represent the broader team\xe2\x80\x99s leadership, to accomplish collective wins.

Qualifications

Minimum 9 years experience in data management and analytics roles managing data warehouse platforms, including production support, change initiatives and/or large transformation programs in the Financial Services industry

Minimum of 5 years experience leading, managing and coaching a team with diverse skills and backgrounds, with a demonstrated history of contributing to their development and success

Expert knowledge of SQL and cloud enabled data management solutions

Expert knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and design patterns

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, or Finance

Knowledge of the investment lifecycle and data domains for exchange traded and OTC products, including exotic instruments

Hands-on experience with delivering complex data assets and a proven ability to manage multiple projects

Experience implementing and delivering change to leading investment applications, including but not limited to Eagle, Calypso, and Charles River

Experience with the Azure cloud platform and/or Snowflake are nice to have
