Through research and collaboration, OpenEd engages in scholarship to advance the teaching and learning mandate of the University.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the OpenEd Manager, Marketing, Communications and Enrolment, the Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator provides support for all digital marketing and promotional activities within the department. Tasks include content creation for email marketing campaigns, social media, digital advertising, and the OpenEd website, along with minor web maintenance and some graphic design. The Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator works collaboratively with departmental staff, members of the University community and external organizations and associations to coordinate and support OpenEd marketing goals, plans and activities.Requirements

  • Successful completion of a 2-year Community College program in Marketing, plus 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • An understanding of the effective use of digital marketing (email, social media, website) for business needs
  • Strong writing skills and experience developing content for multiple mediums
  • Experience with web and social media analytics, especially Google Analytics and Sprout Social
  • Experience with MailChimp or other email marketing software
  • Knowledge of HTML/web authoring packages or content management systems such as Drpual/Wordpress
  • Knowledge of graphic design software applications, including Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat), and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated skills in a variety of marketing and promotions channels including social media, email, web and digital ads, organization and time management, meeting facilitation and presenting, and writing and communication
  • Experience working in a fast paced, multi-tasking cost-recovery environment and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
