Reporting to the Manager, Digital Marketing, the Digital Content Specialist will create clear and compelling digital copy to elevate the NorQuest brand and generate interest in our courses and programs.
The Digital Content Specialist will be responsible for identifying needs and creating content that engages students and other key stakeholders to action. With an understanding of writing for diverse audiences, the digital content specialist will create accessible content that helps students see themselves at the college.
The role is hands on, but also requires a strategic thinker who can look past the status quo to identify future opportunities. In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team, the Digital Content Specialist will have the opportunity to shape NorQuest\xe2\x80\x99s brand to help the college meet its strategic goals through an innate ability to capture audiences with words. The goal of the Digital Content Specialist is to engage and influence people\xe2\x80\x99s behaviour through words and stories.
HOW YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Write and edit high-quality, impactful copy for webpages, email campaigns, blog posts, social media, advertising, and other channels.
  • Work closely with colleagues on the Web and Marketing team to create copy that will optimize page rankings and increase awareness of NorQuest\xe2\x80\x99s courses and programs.
  • Produce short- and long-form copy that is clear, concise, aligned with NorQuest\xe2\x80\x99s brand, and engaging for a range of student audiences.
  • Work closely with NorQuest\xe2\x80\x99s creative team to develop unique solutions to meet the college\xe2\x80\x99s business needs and growth targets.
  • Develop and co-create content marketing strategies for internal clients and the NorQuest brand.
  • Work collaboratively with internal clients to understand their needs, identify solutions, and appropriately integrate feedback.
  • Review conversion rates from webpages, campaigns, and emails, develop ongoing optimization strategies, and create copy to execute on those strategies.
  • Review and analyze market research, internal data sources (e.g., application/admission data, student demographics/psychographics, surveys, CRM data, etc.) to better understand target audiences and market opportunities.
  • Manage copy requests from colleagues and internal clients to ensure alignment on requirements, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Utilize an active and inquisitive approach to projects to ensure that client needs are well understood, and project goals are met.
  • Participate in team planning activities in support of college strategic and business goals.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and adaptation of service linkages and protocols with other divisions and units to improve internal working relationships and to streamline service delivery.
  • Attend regular scheduled meetings with the Manager, Digital Marketing, to discuss and set priorities, review work, set performance plans and review performance.
  • Assist with special projects as required.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or diploma with a focus on writing or communications.
  • Related experience with training and professional development will be considered for equivalency.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Digital Content Specialist or in similar roles.
  • Experience in an educational institution or at a marketing agency is an asset.

  • Experience with brand and campaign-level positioning.
  • Excellent time and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience researching, writing, and editing copy for a variety of channels.
  • Creative thinker with a demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute new ideas to help the Marketing and Communications team meet its goals.
  • Familiarity with web analytics and writing copy for SEO.
  • Ability to work independently in a complex environment as well as work with a broad range of internal clients.
  • Ability to analyze multiple data sources to inform understanding of key student audiences and create highly targeted copy for various channels.

SALARY
: $2,608 - $3,386 biweekly reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full time, term position ending June 30, 2025 with immediate access to our great benefit programs.
