We are currently seeking a DevOps - Junior to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia (CA-NS), Canada (CA).

Day to Day Responsibilities

• Need to spend 50% of your time on and around production support, including the handling of user tickets, incidents, and problem management.
• Proactively monitor services and respond to and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide insights from monitoring logs to identify recurring issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation and periodic conference calls with other specialists from other time zones.
• Need to work closely with engineering/development teams to design, build, and maintain systems and help them decide on products to use, schema design and query tuning.
• Automate to drive efficiency by designing an autonomous system.
• Identify opportunities to implement orchestrated automation to improve Activity Ratios.
• Support Digital Transformation Roadmap development and adoption.
• Hands-on creation and maintenance of applicable environments and product capabilities.

Required Technical skills.

• 2+ years of application product development and environment management experience.
• 1 + production support & pre-production solutions.
• 1+ RDBMS Knowledge with SQL queries.
• 1+ years Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, and associated tools like Jira/Rally.
• 1+ years managing HA and scalable Cloud environments e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience using Enterprise Tools such as App Dynamic, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace
• 1+ years of Support experience with DBs such as IBM, DB2, Sybase, Mongo, Green Plum, KDB
• 1+ years Configuration management e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
• Experience with change and release management processes.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

Nice to have Skills

• Operating Systems: Windows and Linux system administration.
• Experience with container orchestration through tools like GKE, AKS, EKS.
• Experience with application containerization with Docker.
• Strong scripting skills - Python, Groovy, Go, PowerShell, along with automation skills
• Good understanding of network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP
