Position Title: DesignerReports to: Editor-in-ChiefWork Term: August 1st 2024 to April 30th, 2025Work Hours: Scheduling is flexible, and hours will vary from month to month, up to a maximum of 20 hours. The Designer is responsible for compiling the structure and layout of various visual elements for The Meliorists print magazine, under the guidance of the Editor-in-Chief. The Designer should also create original artistic content for print and online publications. Training and professional development can be provided.Key Responsibilities

• Create graphic design and compile content to produce our print magazine, in accordance with The Melioirists visual style guidelines
• Report to the Editor-in-Chief to ensure that the publication is prepared on time and to the highest standards
• Develop illustrations, photographs and other graphic design elements for online and print publication
• Work with the entire team by providing regular office hours each month
• Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings
• Communicate regularly with the Business Manager & Editor-in-Chief
• Positively and faithfully represent The Meliorist at all times

Essential Skills

• Extensive knowledge and experience with graphic design for both print and digital publication
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop, Canva
• Organized and manages time efficiently
