The Design Gallery Furniture/Appliance Sales Associate supports our Design Gallery showroom in a professional and presentable way while greeting and engaging customers with a welcoming and friendly rapport. The furniture/appliance sales associate support our customers by reviewing furniture. Appliance, and decor product selection, providing information on product specifications, advising on interior design, as well as seamlessly guiding customers with home projects and renovation aspirations to our design consultants and Home Installs team for further consultation. The furniture/appliance sales associate will make memorable interactions through the furniture and appliance sales experience, alongside supporting the potential for design consultation and Home Installs projects. All furniture/appliance sales associates support our gallery by maintaining cleanliness, building and tidying up displays and staged areas, ticketing and replenishing merchandise, cycle counting, loss prevention and staying current with industry trends and merchandising.
Responsibilities:
Actively seek out and offer a friendly greeting throughout the Design Gallery.
Ensures all customers receive superior service and greeted within 30 seconds of entering the department.
Represent the Home Design Gallery in a presentable and professional way.
Assist retail customers with questions on product information, specifications, and availability in-person and on the telephone.
Merchandise the Design Gallery ensuring displays are beautifully curated.
Support customers with the comparison and ordering of products where necessary.
Perform housekeeping duties throughout the department and general area.
Assemble displays and stock and set up merchandise.
Review, validate and update product pricing where necessary.
Build special displays and signage for sales, promotions and other special events.
Remove sales and promotional displays, pricing, etc. and rearrange stock following promotional events.
Check incoming merchandise against invoices to spot shortages, damaged goods, back-orders, etc.
Participate in regular cycle counting and assisting in taking annual inventory counts.
Be accessible to colleagues for questions and guidance where necessary.
Order special order products after customer has paid and signed off on the item.
Track orders and keep customers updated.
Deal with customer issues in a timely manner.
Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by manager or general manager.
