Reporting to the Manager of DDU, the DDU Attendant is responsible for the reprocessing of scopes, proper equipment sterilization/sanitation, and general patient care including transport, other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduate or equivalent
  • Central reprocessing certification from a recognized College
  • Current CSAO /CSA Certification
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in direct consumer care area
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a scope reprocessing setting
  • Basic knowledge of medical/surgical equipment
  • Knowledge of anatomy of flexible scopes and care and maintenance of procedural/surgical instruments and equipment
  • Familiarity in operating an Automated Endoscopic Reprocessor
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with basic computer programs
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust priorities and be flexible with work assignments
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Demonstrates values consistent with SHN?s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area.

  • Demonstrated high standards of work outputs
  • Highly punctual
  • Demonstrated professionalism and reliability
