The
Manager, Data Center Operations & Infrastructure (DCM)
is a
critical operational role
overseeing the day-to-day management of our
Vancouver
1 &
Vancouver
2
data centers. You will be responsible for leading a team of
data center technicians, operators, and infrastructure managers
to ensure that all tasks related to
electrical, mechanical, security, fire life safety, and customer support
are executed safely and efficiently.
Quality control is key, and uptime is paramount.

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead and mentor
a team of data center professionals to deliver
world-class service
.
Oversee
daily operations
, ensuring all aspects of
electrical, mechanical, security, and fire safety systems
run seamlessly.
Drive efficiency in
customer installations, service requests, and remote hands support
.
Manage and resolve
technical and operational incidents, leading
emergency response efforts
when needed.
Develop, implement, and refine
standard operating procedures (SOPs)
and maintenance strategies.
Ensure
compliance with health & safety regulations
while fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Monitor and report site capacity metrics
, ensuring scalability and long-term planning.
Support
pre-sales efforts
, including conducting customer site tours and responding to RFIs/RFPs.
Oversee OPEX & CAPEX budgets
, ensuring smart investments and cost control.
Drive compliance with
accreditation initiatives
(SOC2, ISO 27001, etc.) and manage security personnel.

Experience & Skills:
5+ years of leadership experience
in data center operations, with a strong focus on
mission-critical environments
.
Expertise in
colocation operations, capacity planning, facility forecasting, and performance metrics
.
Strong background in
incident management, emergency response, and root cause analysis
.
Experience with
trouble ticketing systems, budget management (CAPEX/OPEX), and compliance programs
.
Excellent communication skills
, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Education & Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
Bachelor's degree
in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Industry certifications are a plus:
309-A, 313-A, ITIL, UTI, DCCA
, etc.
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in
Microsoft & Google software suites
(Visio is a plus!).
Strong knowledge of
structured cabling, networking, and connectivity standards
.
Experience with
CMMS, DCIM, and power metering systems
.
Understanding of
industry data center standards, policies, and regulations
, including
Provincial Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code, and Fire Code
Working Conditions
The role has standard data center working conditions with time split between office and facility environments, with a regular workweek from
Monday to Friday
.
Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet
tight deadlines
and manage
competing priorities
.
The role requires
availability to respond to critical incidents off-hours
.
