OVERVIEW
McCain is embarking on a digital transformation Journey. As part of this transformation, we are elevating the way that we use data and analytics to drive value and enhance decision-making across our Agriculture business globally. To help drive our Agriculture data and analytics strategy, we are seeking a curious, creative and innovative data-driven individual with a proven background in exceptional analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
The Manager, Global Agriculture Data & Analytics will play a key role in integrating analytics into our Agriculture business to drive sustainable raw supply, cultivate grower relationships, sustainability and re-generative agriculture practices. This role will be key to transform our agriculture business to be Data-led business around the world. You will work with cross-functional and cross-regional colleagues, as well as our data sciences partners and universities to build predictive and cognitive models to drive digital transformation agenda. The role will focus on building the tools and processes to elevate data into actionable insights and ensure decision-makers across the agriculture business have access to and understanding of the information to enable data-driven decisions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own and enhance descriptive and predictive analytics reporting related to agriculture business through BI dashboards and standard reporting tools
• Distill data to share actionable insights with global and regional Ag stakeholders, including Agriculture monthly scorecards and reporting to the senior leadership team and other key stakeholders
• Support Ag Data center strategy and roadmap development related to data sources, tools, capabilities, processes, dashboards, and whitespace opportunities, etc.
• Build regional business relationships to identify value-driving use cases for analytics
• Define and scope a delivery approach against targeted use cases; confirm KPIs and expected value delivery
• Mock up Proof-of-concept (POCs) or wireframes of analytics outputs to ensure alignment
• Proactively partner with cross-functional and cross-regional colleagues to deconstruct business issues, generate hypotheses and build/scale analytics tools
• Prepare and present executive ready presentation materials and deliverables, with a strong ability to craft a compelling narrative to clearly explain data concepts and insights
• Develop and implement detailed data models and tools focused on agriculture internal data, external market data and leveraging a wide-range of data sources
• Serve as a subject-matter expert on agriculture data and analytics, helping elevate and coach key stakeholders
• Be a champion of change to improve data literacy across all regions
• Capability building: serve as a coach or mentor to business leaders on how to drive data into decision making; coach and mentor regional teams to driving business impact
• Continue to modernize data reporting / dashboards to improve adoption and usage
• Work with Data Governance team to ensure data quality issues identified are addressed at source
• Lead medium to large scale analytical projects with a close collaboration with technology and regional teams

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL SHOW:

• Demonstrated history of driving change in a large, global organization
• Knowledge and experience working with data to drive decision making; can speak with experience about how data-driven decisions shaped their career and business decisions
• Strong awareness of data best practices and what’s possible with rich data
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build compelling narratives with data
• Ability to frame and complete a high-level business case as part of driving change
• Have a “get things done” attitude. This role is about inspiring change, but committing to your business leaders to get them the data they need
• Ability to “get hands dirty” and hands-on, and develop dashboards, and work with Technology colleagues to delivery data projects

KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:

• Project Management: defining and shaping your own agenda

• Experience with managing and influencing executive-level audiences, including meeting facilitation, hypothesis generation and delivering conclusions
• A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion end-to-end

  Change Management

• Comfortable working with business stakeholders across a range of experience with data and analytics
• Able to establish a case for change and “sell” an idea; comfortable challenging the status quo and suggesting alternative business processes inspired with data and technology
• Able to explain data concepts in a way that is approachable and compelling
• Be a champion of change

• 
  Data Design and Analysis

• Experience with requirement analysis (interviewing, facilitation, gap analysis, data analysis, business process mapping, user interface design and mock-up)
• Experience in translating data use cases, requirements to Data Science/IT teams and translating results into insights for the business
• Strong data management / data transformation abilities
• A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements

• 
  Digital Skills

• Knowledge or experience working with commonplace ML techniques/models
• Minimum two years of experience working with BI and data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
• Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment would be an asset
• Understanding of SQL or any other programming languages such as Python, R or SAS

• 
  Business

• Experience in agriculture business would be an asset
