The Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for the cybersecurity engineering tasks associated with Nasittuq\xe2\x80\x99s Information Management System and the entire North Warning System (NWS). The role reports directly to the Nasittuq Chief Information System Security Officer.

This is a full-time permanent position based in either Ottawa or North Bay, in a hybrid work environment. Regular commutes between these locations are expected, including in-person reviews with the customer cybersecurity representatives in Ottawa.

This position promotes cybersecurity awareness of contractual obligations and procedures to all departments. The role will develop and maintain the threat and vulnerability management program, including review of existing systems and new design requirements with Nasittuq engineering teams. Responsibilities:

• Performing cybersecurity engineering tasks associated with Information Management Systems (IMS)
• Collaborating with internal and external groups to identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks
• Monitoring networks and systems for security breaches, using software that detects intrusions and abnormal system behavior
• Preparing, documenting, and educating standard operating procedures, policies, and best practices
• Implementing security controls to protect infrastructure, computer systems, and data
• Responding to any security breaches or intrusions that may occur, as the key resource for cybersecurity incident management
• Leading risk assessment and opportunity reviews with Nasittuq and Customer teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Engineering in Computer Systems, Electrical, Information Security, or similar discipline
• Eligible to be licensed as a Professional Engineer in Canada
• Minimum 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in cybersecurity engineering, information technology security, and risk management
• Possess a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) designation, with an Information Systems Security Architect Professional (ISSAP) specialization, or equivalent experience
• Adaptability and ability to manage priorities with attention to detail and work cross-culturally
• Computer literate in MS applications including MS Visio, strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of traditional multiplexed networks and server-based infrastructure
• Military systems experience is considered an asset
• Candidates must be Canadian citizens, be eligible for SECRET security clearance and pass a pre-employment medical
