Curriculum Specialist

Primary Purpose: The purpose of this position is to support the College of Nursing Undergraduate Program Curriculum Development.

Nature of Work: In supporting the Associate Dean - Academic, the Curriculum Specialist will be simultaneously working with multiple development teams, reporting to and working closely with the Associate Dean, Academic and Undergraduate Curriculum Development Subcommittee.

Typical Duties or Accountabilities:

  • Support the development of curriculum framework, course and module development, and delivery timetables
  • Work closely with development teams
  • Keep detailed records on the curriculum and course development
  • In conjunction with the Associate Dean - Academic, develop agenda items and co-facilitate meetings with the development teams
  • Provide follow-up documentation post-meeting
  • Provide support for the faculty, instructor and staff in course and organizational development for labs and clinical
  • Collaborate with faculty, instructors, staff, learner colleagues, campus community, and members of the broader community
Education: A Master's degree, preferably a Master of Health Professions Education or the equivalent is required.

Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a related field, preferably in a health profession. Experience working closely with development teams creating new projects/curriculum development is essential to this role.

Skills: In this role, the incumbent will be simultaneously working with many projects, individuals, and teams. Building and maintaining positive working relationships with faculty, instructors, staff, learner colleagues, campus community, and members of the broader community is foundational to the success of this project and integral to this role.

Technical Skills
  • Excellent writing skills tailored to each communication method, purpose, and audience
  • Proficiency in using online platforms for communication and for displaying information
  • Use continuous quality improvement approaches
  • Experienced in data analysis and reporting
  • Meticulous record keeping, identification, and consolidation of key information from development teams to inform the work of the team and related initiatives

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $64,107.00 - 100,169.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
