What you will be doing:
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Provide organizational and administrative support to the Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef, Chief Steward and key players in the culinary team.
  • Organize a variety of related documents and follow-up of tasks as requested by Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef/Chief Steward.
  • Maintain stationery and office supplies of the kitchen & stewarding department.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all F&B menus, outlets and hotel services/features.
  • To work efficiently and effectively in meeting deadlines and delivering quality work.
  • To keep positive relations with suppliers and other external clients.
  • Update and maintain all the kitchen files.
  • Ensure all BEO\'s are printed and organized for Culinary & Stewarding.
  • Responsible along with F&B Coordinator for all in-house menu printing for the division.
  • To assist in the implementation of the various food safety and hygiene standards including HACCP and other Municipality regulations.
  • Participates and takes notes/minutes in regular meetings and briefings as may be scheduled.
  • Work with Engineering Department regarding maintenance concerns/requests.
  • Perform various duties pertaining to departmental scheduling, payroll and purchasing
  • Maintain confidential filling system for correspondence, policies, standards, regulations and various matters related to the division.
  • Participates and takes notes/minutes in regular meetings and briefings as may be scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Culinary & Stewarding leadership team.
QualificationsYour experience and skills include:
  • Previous experience in an administrative role required
  • Minimum one year experience in Food & Beverage preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly responsible and able to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion
  • Professional telephone manner and demeanor with a natural response to \'smile\' on the phone
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Successful candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The Hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends, late nights, early mornings, and holidays
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
  • Frequent standing, sitting and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20lbs
  • Infrequent kneeling, pushing and pulling
  • Infrequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
