We are looking for detail-oriented Pre Departure Services Consultants to join our team in helping to continue to set the benchmark in the industry. If you are wanting to kick-start your career in travel, this is the perfect opportunity. APT Vancouver is currently looking for a Transportation Coordinator, North America. The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for making sure APT\xe2\x80\x99s and Travelmarvel\xe2\x80\x99s meet & greet, transfer and cruise operations in North America are delivered according to agreed customer service targets, customer expectations and in the most efficient and cost effective way. THE ROLE Airport and Transfer Operations: Coordinate all arrival and departure transfers for APT\xe2\x80\x99s and Travelmarvel\xe2\x80\x99s guests in North America in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner; including issuing, proofing reports, liaising with vendors/third party operators, and APT/TM departments, and overseeing on site operations. Cruise Operations: Coordinate all cruise operations for APT\xe2\x80\x99s and Travelmarvel\xe2\x80\x99s guests in North America, focusing on Alaska and Eastern Canada/US Cruises, in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner; including issuing, proofing reports, putting travel documents together, liaising with vendors/third party operators, and APT/TM departments, and overseeing on site operations. Training/Performance Management: with the support of the Crew Coordinator, train all Cruise Liaisons (except Continental US), Meet &Greet Staff and third party operators on APT/Travelmarvel\xe2\x80\x99s standards of delivery; review and update the Cruise Liaison\xe2\x80\x99s Manual; participate in the Annual Director and Cruise Liaison\xe2\x80\x99s training; monitor their performance during the season, provide additional training as required. Quality Control: Monitor relevant Customer Service Targets, especially for Cruise Operations, to ensure agreed targets are met or exceeded; take corrective action when necessary; observe and supervise operations on site whenever possible; support other department with administrative tasks such as general tour set up, contracting, itinerary checks etc. ABOUT YOU

  • Highly organised, detail orientated and with good problem solving skills
  • Capable of multitasking, working under pressure and in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Have the ability to communicate professionally with people of all ages and all backgrounds
  • Able to work independently, to be part of a team and to lead a team
  • Have excellent computer skills, in particular word, excel, outlook; reporting and documentation skills
  • Have experience working in the Travel/Hospitality Industry
  • Have knowledge of tourist destinations in Canada and Alaska and North America, and of APT/Travelmarvel Products there.
  • Have experience dealing with customers from Australia, New Zealand and the UK - including face to face.
Important:
  • Due to the cruise schedule, this position will require working Tuesday to Saturday during the season (May to September). Overtime and other week end work might be required on occasion.
  • During the off season, the position will revert to Monday to Friday, and there is flexibility to work mostly from home if desired.
