We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a Credit Specialist to join our Ritchie Bros. Financial Services team The work location for this position is Burnaby, BC and is eligible for a fully remote or hybrid work arrangement.

The Opportunity:

The Credit Specialist is the primary point of contact and lender interface for Ritchie Bros. Financial Services. Supporting the RBFS Call Centre, the Credit Specialist will evaluate credit requests through research and analysis and make recommendations in a timely fashion. The Credit Specialist will have daily contact with other departments within the organization, as well as applicants and finance sources. The ideal candidate can build relationships with both internal and external customers, is detail-oriented, and has excellent time management skills.
In this role you\xe2\x80\x99ll:


  • Respond to incoming inquiries pursuant to lease and/or loan applications.

  • Analyze credit reports and assess credit history (Consumer & Commercial).

  • Collect all necessary financial information required for Ritchie Bros. Financial Services to complete a credit application.

  • Make outbound calls to obtain any information the lender requires.

  • Process credit application through Gateway.

  • Provide lender feedback/rate quotation information to RBFS Account Manager.

  • Remain current on program products and processes. Assist with the implementation of changes and new procedures as required.

  • Maintain/exceed established standards and targets while adhering to all credit policies, procedures and guidelines.

  • Participate in team huddles/committees.

  • Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.

Here\xe2\x80\x99s what you bring:

  • 2 years of related banking/finance or related industry experience.

  • Strong credit evaluation and analytical skills, including familiarity with consumer credit bureau reports and analysis measures such as credit scores, etc.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a heavy workload.

  • Demonstrate ability to exercise appropriate analytical and judgement skills required when dealing with moderately complex procedures and situations when dealing with customers

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment

  • Must have flexibility and willingness to move between various shifts as needed

  • Proficiency in MS Office
