Major responsibilities are listed but not necessarily limited to the following duties:

  • Provide customers with technical direction and hands on training in the operation and maintenance of log handling cranes.
  • Supervise the repair of mechanical and hydraulic components of log handling cranes.
  • Supervise welders and/or millwrights during structural repair projects.
  • Assist/advise customer with their preventative maintenance program if required.
  • Extensive travel within Canada and some travel possibly in USA.
  • Completion of inspection and service call reports plus other administrative requirements in a timely manner.
  • Maintain site safe work practices as per Andritz\'s and customer\'s safety requirements.
  • Assist Service Manager with Responsibilities such as Estimating Work, Scheduling Rental Equipment, Materials and Labor to execute the service work needed on the crane with a possibility of assuming the Canadian Service Manager Position.
  • Prepare Job Plans and Procedures to execute the service work.
When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following:
  • Five years prior experience working in a mill environment preferred or working in a manufacturing environment assembling, rebuilding, and/or operating industrial machinery
  • Prior experience with material handling equipment is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Customer centric attitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to read and write English and intermediate math skills are required.
  • Familiarity of MS Office products and email.
  • Able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
  • Possess a valid driver\'s license.
  • Ability to work without supervision and manage own schedule.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work and meet deadlines.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
