Job Summary



MLT Aikins Saskatoon is in search of a Corporate Commercial Legal Assistant with experience in a general corporate/commercial practice. The ideal candidate will have good practical training and experience from working in a busy corporate/commercial practice and will have graduated from an accredited legal program (equivalencies will be considered). Candidates must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload, pay attention to detail, and have excellent organization, and communication and written skills.

Responsibilities Include:



Performing complex editing and formatting for correspondence and documents Preparing various administrative tasks including file opening, billing and follow-up to review outstanding accounts Maintaining an efficient file system, and have strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Completing, monitoring, and following up on all post-closing documents Performing day-to-day administrative tasks including file organization, diarizations, booking appointments, and maintaining calendars Attending to online filings with Corporate Registries Performing general administrative duties and responsibilities as required

Qualifications Include:



Graduate of a recognized legal assistant program (equivalencies will be considered) Three to five years of experience in any law practice area. Experience in an active corporate/commercial practice area would be an asset Advanced computer skills including in Word, Excel, Outlook and document management software Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proofreading, spelling, and grammar skills Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines Ability to maintain an efficient electronic file system Ability to follow instructions from a diverse group of lawyers with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced, professional team environment A client-focused approach and commitment to providing exceptional service to internal and external clients; customer service and communication skills are an asset
