Salary band: from $45,026 to $56,282, annually

We are looking for a Coordinator, Volunteer Experience & Engagement. You will work in conjunction with geographic program and service teams to build and support volunteer capacity and enhance the experience and engagement of volunteers. You will also support various facets of the volunteer resource management cycle including sourcing, orientation, onboarding, engagement, and recognition of volunteers and assist with various volunteer-related projects and committees.

As Coordinator, Volunteer Experience & Engagement you will:

  • Work to support activities related to engagement of volunteers based on the Volunteer Engagement Strategy of the CRC.
  • Collect performance reviews and distribute them to program coordinators and support volunteers requiring additional training for future assignments.
  • Conduct volunteer orientation sessions about the CRC structure, programs, and services available for volunteers.
  • Support program teams with projects, such as obtaining volunteer information and providing advice on ensuring a positive volunteer experience.
  • Act as a liaison for volunteers not affiliated with one given program that participate in short-term projects/assignments, ensuring regular communication, sharing other volunteer opportunities, and maintaining a continued level of engagement.
  • Utilize and adapt national strategies and recruitment tools towards a targeted sourcing approach for identified communities, volunteer profiles and volunteer classifications for the identified geography.
  • In partnership with program leadership conduct program information sessions to provide a high-level overview of volunteer role expectations, commitments, and organizational understanding.
  • To promote and track provincial recognition activities to ensure volunteer events are scheduled and follow processes that meet CRC recognition standards. To provide guidance and tools to assist with the success of local/regional appreciation events.
What we are looking for:
  • The minimum qualifications for this position include post secondary education in volunteer management, social sciences, human resources or community development, a minimum of three years' experience in a related field, including experience with public speaking and presenting to large groups, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Professionalism, credibility and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and establish and manage productive internal and external relationships.
  • Innovation and personal accountability
  • Strong customer service orientation and planning, organization, priority setting and negotiation skills to manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated competency in building, leading and working collaboratively with volunteer teams.
  • Computer and numerical literacy, comfort working with data bases, metrics.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Certification in or working towards a certification in Volunteer Management (CVA) is an asset.
Working conditions:
  • This is a remote position, with occasional travel to conduct outreach activities and attend meetings.
  • This position requires to work occasionally non-traditional hours; therefore, the ability to work on evenings and weekends is required.
  • This position is a full-time, permanent position.
