The Coordinator, Student Success in the Beedie School of Business is responsible for the planning, development, and operationalization of the Business Course Access and Planning Program (BCAP) and accompanying student advising and retention services. The Coordinator leads the development and implementation of undergraduate academic and retention advising, peer advising programming, events, and student support services and the development of operational and tactical improvements, including overseeing the implementation of an early alert system/process, standardized advising policy and procedures, and standardization of advisor training and support across the Beedie School of Business. Supporting the Associate Director Undergraduate Programs & Academic Success, the Coordinator leads the development and assessment of retention tactics/strategies, including academic support programming initiatives, retention support services and initiatives such as the identification, support, and processes of at-risk students. Participates in the development of student recruitment and retention tactics/strategies in collaboration with direct supervisors, recruitment, admissions, career management, student engagement, and other members of the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs office. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or other relevant discipline, and two years of related experience in management, academic advising, program coordination, student programming, admissions and student recruitment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of enrollment management, retention, student success, and academic advising theories, best practices and strategies.
  • Excellent knowledge of University policies and regulations related to student admission, academic programming, and services.
  • Good knowledge of program design principles including assessment strategies.
  • Excellent supervisory, teamwork, interpersonal, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and intercultural communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to research, synthesize, and analyze metrics.
  • Ability to lead multiple team projects and events.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to form partnerships in the higher education community and to establish networks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and exercise mature judgment and a high level of diplomacy and discretion.
  • Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, student information systems (e.g., SIMS) and database applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, customer relationship management systems) and business process design.
